Abstract
Log of Niskin bottles taken on the JC2-1 Joint Process Cruise (IMR cruise number 2021708) in the Barents Sea, 12th July 2021 - 29th July 2021. A ring of Niksin bottles are bolted to a CTD, and sample water at different depths depending on the water budget provided by the scientists onboard. The water is circulated around the scientists for their sampling. Multiple bottles are sample the same depth if more water is required than one bottle can hold. For details on the method, see version 8 of the Nansen Legacy sampling protocols, section 6.2.

Abstract
Water samples taken for metabarcoding and metatranscriptomics onboard the 2021708 Joint Process Cruise 2-1 in the Barents Sea. The cruise took place from 12th July 2021 and lasted until 29th July 2021. CTDs were taken for eukaryotic microbial filtration through a 0.22µm sterivex filter. Nansen Legacy sampling protocols version 8 section 7.15 for metabarcoding, Nansen Legacy sampling protocols version 8 section 7.16 for metatranscriptomics.
