Ocean acidification effects on marine calcifiers-carbonate chemistry, relative and absolute abundances of foraminifera, pteropopds and coccolitophores and their contribution to the carbonate pump/budget.

    pi_name: Tine L. Rasmussen

    Abstract

The aim of this cruise was to collect data from the chemistry and the biological perspective to better understand the ocean acidification effects on marine calcifiers. To do so, water samples have been collected to analyse chemical parameters (DIC/Alkalinity, nutrients and d18O) and coccolithophores together with multinets (64um) to collect foraminifera and pteropods. From these samples the abundance distribution, the index dissolution of the shells and the carbonate contribution will be assessed regarding the carbonate chemistry.
