Respirarion testing on Calanus glacalis and Calanus hyperboreus

    pi_name: Khuong V. Dinh

    Abstract

Respiration was tested using Loligo Microresp, on Calanus glacialis and Calanus hyperboreus females from stations P5 and P7 at two different temperatures: 0C and 5C. At P7 the tests were done at both surface and close to bottom depths for C. Hyperboreus, but C. glacialis was only found in the surface. After the respiration test the animals were photographed and snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen. Some samples (n=20) were directly frozen at both stations for control/reference.
