Sediment traps were deployed at seven different depths (30, 40, 60, 90, 120, 200 and 500m). From each depth, samples for fractionated algal pigments (Chl a and Chl a >10µm), feacal pellets, phytoplankton communities and POC/PON were taken. From 30, 60, 200 and 500m depth, additional samples were taken for stable isotopes, HPLC pigments, IP25, metabarcoding and particulate biogenic silica.

statID: 137 end_date: 2021-09-02 00:00:00 end_time: 20:17:12.715000 fixative: Hexamine buffered Formaldehyde fieldNotes: Trap deployment started at 14:00- 14:20 01/09/2021. Through an ice hole made close to the water hole and the coring site with an ice auger. Attached with 2 metal poles which proved difficult to get out, use ice screws or wooden stakes next time. All depths deployed with 2 cups. Sediment trap recovered 02/09/2021 between 13:00 and 13:00. Filtrations started at 14:25 (all times in Bergen times). Current was weak and could deply and pull up by hand. There was a 5cm ice layer formed on the top of the water hole, used an ice thickness drill and saw to remove. Rope had froxen to side of the hole so had to carefully remove. Potentially add a chain next time so can properly saw into it? pi_address: UiT- the Arctic University of Tromsø, Mulinbakken 21, 9001 Tromsø start_date: 2021-09-01 00:00:00 vesselName: Kronprins Haakon storageTemp: Cool room PeriodOfTime: 23 hours and 10 mins recordNumber: 18 endDecimalLatitude: 83.8573895333333 endDecimalLongitude: 24.9987284333333 seaIceThicknessInMeters: 90 sampleVolumeInMilliliters: 200
