Sediment traps were deployed at seven different depths (30, 40, 60, 90, 120, 200 and 500m). From each depth, samples for fractionated algal pigments (Chl a and Chl a >10µm), feacal pellets, phytoplankton communities and POC/PON were taken. From 30, 60, 200 and 500m depth, additional samples were taken for stable isotopes, HPLC pigments, IP25, metabarcoding and particulate biogenic silica.

statID: 138 end_date: 2021-09-02 00:00:00 end_time: 21:40:11.828000 fixative: None fieldNotes: Trap deployment started at 22:50- 00:008 01/09/2021. Smooth deployment off the side on an ice flow near to p8, but away from where the boat was sailing for nets. Staked to the side of a floe. Graese ice and pancake ice forming. All depths deployed with 4 cups. Sediment trap recovered 02/09/2021 between 23:30 and 01:00. Filtrations started at 01:30 (all times in Bergen times). Current was stronger on recovery, had to drift away from flow side to avoid ice chunks. Grease ice had frozen to 5cm ish ice with small frost flowers. Seal popped up during recovery. Beautiful clear sky with haxe over sun making nice orange. Still midnight sun. pi_address: UiT- the Arctic University of Tromsø, Mulinbakken 21, 9001 Tromsø start_date: 2021-09-01 00:00:00 vesselName: Kronprins Haakon storageTemp: neg 20 C recordNumber: 29 endDecimalLatitude: 83.82687645 endDecimalLongitude: 25.3599638166667 seaIceThicknessInMeters: 90 sampleVolumeInMilliliters: 45 filteredVolumeInMilliliters: 45
