Fatty acid samples of Calanus hyperboreus and Paraeuchaeta sp.

Abstract
Samples of individual Calanus hyperboreus and Paraeuchaeta sp. (mostly glacialis) for fatty acid analyses. Female Copepods were collected at selected depths with Multinet Mammoth equipped with 180 µm mesh size and 9 nets, or with a MIK-net towed from 1000 m to surface. Copepods were sorted individualy from the sample, rinsed with FSW and placed in cryovials. Cryovials were topped with N-gas before freezed at -80. The coppeods were kept on ice while sorting. C. hyperboreus females from deep nets were targeted, but at most stations the population was found in the upper 600 or even 200 m depth. At stations where too few C. hyperboreus were found at greater depths, samples were collected from all the surface nets. After the cruise, the samples were shipped on dry ice to Dr. Sigrun Jonasdottir at DTU-Aqua, DK, for analyses.
