The InfraNor project will represent a substantial Norwegian contribution to strengthening the SIOS observing system development. Partners in the application are Institute for Marine Research, Norwegian Meteorological Institute, Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center, Geological Survey of Norway, Norwegian Institute for Air Research, Norwegian Institute for Water Research, Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, NORUT, Norwegian Polar Institute, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, University in Oslo, University in Bergen, University in Tromsø and the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate.

The proposal includes modules for atmosphere, terrestrial and ocean research infrastructure, as well as a common module for infrastructure to be used by several of the other modules and covers entire Svalbard (Figure 1).
