SIOS is introducing a new service - the Logistics Sharing Notice Board gives an overview over our members' planned fieldwork in Svalbard with the possibility to offer or request spare capacity.
The main aim of this new sharing tool is to make research activities more efficient economically, environmentally and in terms of researcher time and effort. The platform is designed to be easy to access and allows researchers to quickly post offers and requests in relation to their fieldwork in and around Svalbard. The Logistics Sharing Notice Board breaks down the information on fieldwork to the most important parameters relevant for potential cooperation between SIOS members.

In light of the challenging conditions for international researchers travelling to Svalbard due to Covid-19, SIOS-KC hope that this tool may also be useful for connecting those that are able to carry out work in Svalbard and those that have work that they are not able to do. By working together we can maintain the important time-series until travel restrictions are lifted.
