Measurements started June 1967 with analog registrations on photo paper. From august 1985 digital registration on tape. The seismological vbb-station KBS (very broad band station) at Ny Ålesund is operating since November 1994 and replaces the former WWSSN station operated by the Institute of Solid Earth Physics, University Bergen.
