1st of September, the team at SIOS-KC will be strengthened by our new Scientific Integration and Data Officer, Dariusz Ignatiuk.
Dariusz Ignatiuk will be the link between the scientific research community and the SIOS data management system. The aim of the position is to ensure that data management solutions are developed according to the user needs. His task will be to facilitate that data services are tailored to foster the scientific optimisation of the distributed multidisciplinary research infrastructure owned by the SIOS member institutions.

It's a great pleasure for me to join such a well-known SIOS team. Since my doctoral degree (modelling energy and mass balance of glaciers), courses on UNIS and being the head of the Polish Polar Station in Hornsund, work in the Center for Polar Studies in Poland, I am heart and soul connected with Svalbard. Knowing the work of the SIOS in recent years, I am very happy that I can join to the team to use my skills and knowledge for the better integration and cooperation of the scientific and logistics community in the Arctic.
