    Microbial diversity

    Sediment samples for analysis of microbial diversity were taken from box cores. Six layers of the sediment (0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6 cm) were sampled with a 4.7 cm (inner diameter) core and samples were frozen at -80 deg C for later analysis. This work is part of RF3 of the Nansen Legacy project, cruise SS Q3, August 2019.
