    Fatty acid & HBI

    pi_name: Philipp Assmy

    Abstract

Stable isotopes, fatty acids & HBIs of POM & main zooplankton taxa will be used to study coupling/de-coupling of sympagic and pelagic primary and secondary producers. In addition fatty acids (together with C/N ratios) will be used as a measure of food quality for the planktonic grazer communities and will be linked to on board grazing experiment. At all the process stations, water for POM-samples was collected at the depth of Chlorophyll maximum, in order to link suspended fatty acid with grazing experiments. Sample were collected for the dominating copepod species (Oithona similis, Metridia spp., Calanus spp.) and of otherzooplankton such as Ctenophores, Chaetognaths, krill, amphipods and appendicularians. This dataset contains the list of Fatty acid & HBI samples (but HBI was not in the Sample Type list so all samples are listed as Fatty acids. The stable isotopes are listed together with the Ecotox samples (sampled by Julia Giebichenstein).

Sediment trap and boxcore sample log

    pi_name: Marit Reigstad, Yasemin Bodur

    Abstract

Sediment traps were deployed at six different depths (30, 40, 60, 90, 120 and 200m). From each depth, samples for fractionated algal pigments (Chl a and Chl a >10µm), fecal pellets, phytoplankton communities and POC/PON were taken. From 30, 60 and 200m depth, additional samples were taken for stable isotopes, HPLC pigments, IP25, metabarcoding and particulate biogenic silica

POM stabile isotopes, fatty acids & HBIs

    Abstract

Stable isotopes, fatty acids & HBIs of POM will be used to study coupling/de-coupling of sympagic and pelagic primary and secondary producers. In addition fatty acids (together with C/N ratios) will be used as a measure of food quality for the planktonic grazer communities and will be linked to on board grazing experiment. At all the process stations and main ice stations, water for POM-samples was collected at 20m depth, in order to link suspended fatty acid with grazing experiments. This dataset contains the list of POM fatty acids, stable isotopes & HBI samples
