Using genomic and proteomic tools to identify responses to effects of pollutants on zooplankton and fish

    pi_name: Anders Goksøyr

    Abstract

We will identify responses to pollutants in fish and zooplankton using toxicogenomic tools (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics). Samples (tissue samples such as liver, gill, etc. from fish, or whole animal samples from zooplankton) from ecologically relevant species that have been exposed on board (T2-2.3) will be processed on board and analyzed in the lab at home institutes. Toxicogenomic data will be further processed using bioinformatic and mathematical modeling tools developed in the Digital Life Norway dCod 1.0 project (dcod.no). Data will be used as a basis for ecological risk assessment for different exposure scenarios.
